People who are enthusiasts about Railways, here is the place where you get a chance to know about 150 years history of Indian Railways. This is one and only museum in India which houses an outdoor exhibit of vintage locomotives. Public get a chance to have a look at ancient steam locomotives, carriages, special purpose vehicles, wagons, telecommunication equipment and some other Railway equipment’s. The two royal coaches which were earlier used by Mysuru Kings is one of the main attractions. The Austin Railway Car which was restored by a Railway employee to run on track will take you to the new world. This museum will be opened from 10 AM to 5.30 AM on all days except on Monday. Toy train ride to children’s is charged at 10 Rupees. An entry fee of Rupees 15 for adults and Rupees 10 for children’s is fixed. Tourists carrying still camera will be charged with 20 Rupees and Rupees 30 is charged for video camera. This museum is located at Krishnaraja Sagar Road near to Mysuru Railway station. Since it is located in prime location one can easily reach this place by catching a bus, auto rickshaw or cab.
